Care.com Offers Local Job Updates Through Twitter

Today Care.com (www.care.com), the premier service used by trustworthy caregivers to connect to care-seeking families, announced it is now posting local job opening updates on Twitter.

(PRWEB) April 10, 2009 -- Today Care.com (www.care.com), the premier service used by trustworthy caregivers to connect to care-seeking families, announced it is now posting local job opening updates on Twitter.

Caregivers looking for babysitting, nanny and other caregiving jobs can now receive job notifications through the popular micro-blogging service. Twitter users can select their metropolitan area from a list of the 95 largest U.S. cities to subscribe to automatically generated tweet streams which list new job postings featured on Care.com.

"We wanted to bring the job notifications directly to our caregivers," said Sheila Lirio Marcelo, CEO and Founder of Care.com. "They're already on Twitter, so we're making it easier for them to receive instant notice of the latest caregiving jobs in their area."

Twitter users who follow the Care.com tweet streams will receive regular updates with new job headlines, a brief description of each opening and hourly salary. Each tweet also contains a link that takes users directly to the full job post on Care.com where they can contact the care-seeking family and schedule an introductory interview.

Since its inception, Care.com has helped hundreds of thousands of caregivers nationwide find babysitting jobs and nanny jobs, as well as work in special needs care, in-home senior care, pet sitting, tutoring and housekeeping fields. The site helps care providers search for flexible, local employment by ZIP code, type of caregiving service and salary.

Recently, the company announced a new offering, Care.com for Recruiters. This dedicated job board gives caregivers seeking part- and full-time employment with child care and senior care companies an alternative to the clutter of the catch-all employment sites.

As an added benefit to care-seeking families, caregiver profiles include references and background checks, and a team of experienced moms reviews all caregiver profiles before listing them online. These measures provide families with extra layers of confidence and security when they make important decisions regarding their family care needs.
