“TEA PARTY” Movie Inspires Next Steps for Conservative Movement with 200 Cinematic Tea Parties Nationwide

The tea party movement is proving its staying power as a political force with the recent electoral upsets in Virginia and New Jersey and the thousands of tea party goers rallying at the Nation’s Capital and Congressional House District offices around the country on November 5. Now, the tea party movement is looking toward the “next step”, inspired by over 200 “cinematic tea party town halls” scheduled around the country in November in conjunction with “sneak peeks” of the forthcoming TEA PARTY: The Documentary Film.

The people attending the tea parties deserve to have their story told in an honest, inspiring way that gets to the heart of what moves conservatives to action.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 8, 2009 -- TEA PARTY: The Documentary Film has quickly become one of the largest grassroots championed projects of its kind in recent history. The release of a sneak peek portion of the film is being used by over 200 local organizations around the nation to generate town hall discussions about the principles of the movement and what comes next for the millions who have been involved in the year long process. The film is already gaining international attention with recent interviews on British radio discussing the implications of the American tea parties elsewhere around the world.

The film directly addresses controversies surrounding the movement including allegations of racism, political partisanship, key issues like healthcare and spending, direct acts of terrorism leveled against some groups, debates over crowd size and whether the movement is truly grassroots driven or funded by large special interests. The film profiles minority involvement through conversations within minority communities. It addresses the motivation of rally goers as principle based - motivated by fiscal conservatism, a respect for Constitutional limits on the Federal government and free markets. The often debated affect of the rallies is addressed by government officials and insiders in the movement. Allegations of well funded special interests are answered by several of the larger groups themselves. The film follows behind the scenes stories of doctors storming Capitol Hill including actual bomb threats against key groups. Ultimately, it focuses on the story as experienced by five individuals on their journey to the 912 March on Washington and beyond.

The 'TEA PARTY' movie is the work of Ground Floor Video (GFV), based in Woodstock, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. The project began in mid April when owner Luke Livingston assembled a group of local filmmakers who had been chronicling the tea party story since its early stages. The team began gathering video from groups around the country and coordinating to shoot the majority of the footage with behind the scenes access at a number of the larger events including the 9-12 March on Washington. Director Pritchett Cotten shares, "One of the most inspiring things has been watching regular people like Jack [a character in the film move from being politically inactive to speaking at a local rally to participating in the march and meeting with his congressman on Capitol Hill." Mr. Livingston comments, "The people attending the tea parties deserve to have their story told in an honest, inspiring way that gets to the heart of what moves conservatives to action." Producer Jessica Levai says, "This movement transcends race and gender barriers."

The funding for the project came from several individual donors, Mr. Livingston himself and donated time from the crew working on a speculative basis. The finished film will be released direct to DVD (not in theaters) on Thanksgiving and can be ordered at www.TeaPartyMovie.com and through several other national organizations. Pre orders are available through November 21 at a discount price of $18.95 with free shipping and handling.
