The Daily Buzz and Expanded Books Launch the First Weekly Video Book Club on National TV

Expanded Books and The Daily Buzz, a national morning show reaching more than 62 million TV households, have launched the The Daily Buzz Video Book Club. The very first video-based weekly book club on TV, which will feature not only fiction but also non-fiction and children's books too.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) November 5, 2009 –- The Daily Buzz, a weekday, national morning show which reaches more than 62 million TV households in the U.S., has partnered with Expanded Books, Inc. to launch the first video book club on television, The Daily Buzz Video Book Club.

Starting in November 2009, a new featured title will be spotlighted on the show each Tuesday. The on- air feature includes an introduction by The Daily Buzz’s on-air host, video segments from Expanded Books, as well as the opportunity for the author to appear as a guest on the show.

For each featured title, the full-length trailer also appears on The Daily Buzz website for at least a week, along with excerpts from the book. Viewers are offered giveaways of the featured title from The Daily Buzz contest page and publishers can choose the number of titles they want to give away. Trailers for other Expanded Books videos will also be available on the website as suggestions for additional reading.

The Daily Buzz (http://dailybuzznow.com) is taking several innovative approaches to its book club, none of which have been done before on national television. The book club is video based—allowing viewers to experience the content visually—and it includes all types of books, including non-fiction and children’s titles. Sandi Gehring, the General Manager of The Daily Buzz, explains: “Our Daily Buzz Video Book Club is a great new segment, perfect for our audience. We know morning viewers want practical advice on cooking, parenting, & business but in their busy lives they are also hungry for literature suggestions. Working with the authors and video trailers produced by Expanded Books we can now offer viewers the best of all worlds."

Skye Van Raalte-Herzog, co-founder of Expanded Books, says, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with The Daily Buzz to deliver our content to a national TV audience. We are always looking for ways too raise awareness and gain increased exposure for the books and authors we’re working with and The Daily Buzz offers an ideal platform to accomplish that.”

Expanded Books will also be offering advertising on The Daily Buzz starting in January 2010. For titles that may not get featured on the show, or for those where publishers want more exposure, Expanded Books will produce and place very affordable 30 second spots on The Daily Buzz. “These spots will offer even more opportunities for promotion of certain titles, Todd Stevens, co-founder of Expanded Books, explains, “For the first time, publishers can purchase national television advertising and reach a very large audience for economical rates with book content as its lead in!”

The titles featured for the month of November include: HERE’S THE DEAL DON’T TOUCH ME by Howie Mandel (Bantam), THE MORNING SHOW MURDERS by Al Roker (Delcacorte Press), HEALTHY BREAD IN FIVE MINUTES A DAY by Jeff Hertzberg, M.D. and Zoë François (St. Martin’s Press/Thomas Dunne Books) and 29 GIFTS by Cami Walker (Da Capo Press).

Genter Media, Inc., a nationally known television distribution company, negotiated the deal between Expanded Books and The Daily Buzz. Bruce Genter, President of Genter Media, Inc., says, “I am thrilled I was able to bring together Expanded Books and The Daily Buzz. This is the first time that book publishers will have a regularly scheduled national showcase to feature new releases and authors. It’s a win-win for the program, for the publishers and for the viewers.”
