Gil-lec wins UK Electrical Wholesaler of the Year for the second year running as judged by the Electrical Times

Judged by the industry journal, The Electrical Times, the Electrical Industry Awards recognise organisations’ achievements in such areas as customer service levels, company growth and staff development.

Finalists in 2007, Gil-lec first won the title of Electrical Wholesaler of the Year twelve months later in 2008, the judges making paricular reference to the organisation’s focus on customer service and internal learning culture. The 2009 title recognises Gil-lec’s diversificaton strategy which helped it achieve very positive growth in what has been a difficult year, particularly for those like Gil-lec who are related to the Building industry.

Forseeing the impending crisis, Gil-lec entered the emerging low energy relamping market in early 2009. Re-training the whole sales force and approaching an entirely new market, Gil-lec were thus able to negate the effects of the contraction of its traditional market segments.
