While the TechKnow program maintains a standard inventory of computers, the recent movement of a computer refurbishing center affected the flow of hardware, leaving an inventory gap for the fall semester. The donation fulfilled the immediate need of 11 host schools, and secured resources necessary to expand the program. “We’re excited about this valuable new relationship with U.S. Micro because it demonstrates they are interested in the growth of this after school program, and in the growth of the children. This relationship will continue to make a tremendous impact on the TechKnow program,” says Robert J. Ely, Finance and Operations Manager for Austin Partners in Education.

“We were honored to make this commitment to students in the Austin area,” says U.S. Micro CEO Jim Kegley. “As we continue to provide technology resources for student education, we contribute to the sustainability of our environment and our society.”

With the successful movement of the refurbishing center, the TechKnow after school program returns to normal operational capacity. Continued support from U.S. Micro, as well as local corporations and refurbishers, allows Austin Partners in Education to expand their after school program operations in the coming months.
