First BACnet® Workstations Awarded BTL Mark: Expands Testing Capabilities Across Range of BACnet Device Profiles

BACnet International today announced that five BACnet workstations have completed testing by the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) and have been awarded the BTL Mark. The workstations were tested in parallel and the BTL test package was recently extended to cover BACnet testing for devices that meet the criteria for one of the three levels of operating system testing; Advanced Workstation (B-AWS), Operator Workstation (B-OWS) and Operator Display (B-OD) profiles.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 3, 2009 -- BACnet International today announced that five BACnet workstations have completed testing by the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) and have been awarded the BTL Mark.

These profiles represent the highest level of integration to date for BACnet enabled devices, and completion of these tests means the BTL is now able to test products across the entire range of BACnet device profiles. A comprehensive listing of workstations, and other devices that have been awarded the BTL Mark, are listed on the BTL website at: http://www.bacnetinternational.net/btl/.

According to Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and President/CEO of Teletrol Systems, "Users look to the BTL Mark as an indication that products conform to the BACnet standard so the completion of the BACnet Operator Workstation test suite represents another significant step in our progress toward open, interoperable systems." He added, "I applaud Lori Tribble (the BTL Manager), the members of the BTL working group and all of the companies who have been awarded the BTL Mark for their Operator Workstation products."

Detailed information about these and other products that have been awarded with the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) mark can be found here: http://www.bacnetinternational.net/btl/

The BTL is accepting applications for the testing of other workstation devices. If you are interested in having your workstation tested, please see the BTL website or contact the BTL Manager directly at (btl-manager(at)bacnetinternational(dot)org).
