"Belly Button to Belly Button" Book Provides Tips for Starting and Expanding a Business

People who want to start or expand a business now have a new resource to make the job easier--"Belly Button to Belly Button." The recently-released book takes an evolutionary approach to helping small business owners create higher profits, happier employees and more satisfied customers.

Cumbria, England-- If you're searching for a way to create more business success, the secret is to go "belly button to belly button," according to a recent book by business owner and management expert Syd Stewart. Entitled "Belly Button to Belly Button: How to Become a 'Smiling Owner' of a Great Small Business Using Nature's Secrets," the book is a field-tested guide by Stewart, who has decades of experience starting, maintaining and expanding a business.

The intriguing title of the book alludes to the first of its eight key business success principles: Maximize outside influence and external contacts. "In other words, the more people of the right type you meet or contact each day-- go belly button to belly button with--the more success and enjoyment you will have in business," Stewart explained in the book.

"Belly Button to Belly Button" takes a unique approach to the topic of starting and expanding a small business. It offers a complete and balanced guide to operating a great small business using an evolutionary approach based on the powerful principles of nature and genetics. From these evolutionary processes of nature, the book has developed eight key principles to help new and experienced business owners maximize their results. "The evolutionary approach to business development is novel," Stewart said. "If Darwin had run a business, this is how he would have done it."

"Belly Button to Belly Button" covers four main areas: starting a business, transforming a business, expanding a business, and gaining and maintaining control of a business. The 220-plus-page book is filled with proven techniques, tips, book references for further reading, and methods for practical application of the outlined principles. It touches on a wide range of topics, from today's small business issues and what makes a great business to building a cash reserve and creating a business continuity plan. It also includes helpful scorecards readers can complete for self reflection and improvement: Your Potential to Control Business, Your Potential to Adapt to the Environment, Your Potential to Handle Sudden, Large and Unexpected Events-Crisis, and Your Great Business Potential.

Stewart's motivation for writing the book is based on aspirations he has for his own business. As he explained: "My business goal is to love my work so much I can't wait to get there in the mornings. This means…loving my work, sleeping easily without worries, stopping fire-fighting, having customers raving, enjoying working with great staff and becoming a symbol of excellence. This book is written from the trenches to help you achieve the same goals and make your own small business great."
