Announcing the Establishment of the College Football Performance Awards

Starting in 2009, the College Football Performance Awards will give out 11 trophies to Football Bowl Subdivision players. One trophy will be presented to the Top Performer - the individual responsible for generating the most overall success for the player's team.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) February 25, 2009 -- Starting in 2009, the College Football Performance Awards will give out 11 trophies to Football Bowl Subdivision players. One trophy will be presented to the Top Performer - the individual responsible for generating the most overall success for the player's team. The goal of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients will be selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings.

Reasons for Establishment:
The establishment of the College Football Performance Awards stems from the need for a sophisticated scientific understanding of college football. With the creation of these new awards, college football will finally have precise, objective, and scientifically reliable postseason player awards.

Methodology:
The selection of award winners will be based exclusively on meta-algorithms derived from Differential Equations, Statistics, and Probability. These algorithms have been extensively tested and are empirically justified based upon millions of data collected from the past 8 seasons of college football.

Justification for Methodology:
The selection process of the College Football Performance Awards is inherently dispassionate, scientifically sound, and experimentally valid. Recourse to the balloting of select media members, coaches, and former players would compromise the objectivity, soundness, and validity of this methodology. Further details on problems associated with balloting can be found on the official website of the College Football Performance Awards.

Official Website:
The official website for the College Football Performance Awards launched on February 23, 2009. To visit this site, please go to www.collegefootballperformance.com. Individual rankings from 2005-2008 are currently available on the site. Rankings for the 2009 season will be available this fall and will be updated weekly during the season.

Award Models:
Each year, the College Football Performance Awards will look for models to present trophies to award recipients. Kimmy Mhanna, an Economics Major from the University of Southern California, was selected as the first 2009 award model.

Kickoff Ceremony:
The College Football Performance Awards will kickoff its establishment with a special presentation to David Buehler, the 2008 highest performing kickoff specialist. The event will be held this spring in Los Angeles.

Administration:
Brad Smith, a Davidson College graduate and former University of Southern California football player, will serve as Executive Director of the College Football Performance Awards. Smith holds a Master's degree in Communication Management from the University of Southern California, is a Fellow of the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry, and was a Sports Network All-American at the placekicker position.
