Abel Womack Donates Lift Truck to Support Greater Boston Food Bank

The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is a non-profit relief agency that distributes millions of pounds of food per year to many agencies serving hungry Americans across Massachusetts. They have almost completed construction of a new 117,000 SF distribution center, scheduled to open later this year, to better serve the needs of the kitchens and shelters who receive the food.

Lawrence, MA (PRWEB) February 1, 2009 -- The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is a non-profit relief agency that distributes millions of pounds of food per year to many agencies serving hungry Americans across Massachusetts. They have almost completed construction of a new 117,000 SF distribution center, scheduled to open later this year, to better serve the needs of the kitchens and shelters who receive the food.

With their existing material handling equipment, the GBFB did not have a way to access the top levels of the taller racks in their new distribution center. Recognizing current budget constraints, Abel Womack donated the use of a new Raymond 400" reach truck built to GBFB specifications. As part of the package, the battery to run the truck as well as a year of free maintenance services was included.

"Considering that the Food Bank is literally keeping some of our less fortunate community members alive, this donation was pretty much a no-brainer," said John Croce, President and CEO of Abel Womack.

For nearly 100 years, Abel Womack, Inc.
