Dr. Joel P. Martin, President of Positively Powerful, Triad West Inc., Elected to American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging
The 200-member House of Delegates, which governs AAHSA, is made up of leaders in the aging services and long-term care field. Delegates elect the members of the AAHSA board of directors and its officers. They also assist the AAHSA board of directors in clarifying association policy, long-range planning and governance of the association.
(Bluehost/PRWEB ) October 15, 2008 -- Joel Martin Ph.D., president of Triad West Inc. and author of "How to be Positively Powerful Person" has been elected as an at-large member of the House of Delegates of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA ).
The 200-member House of Delegates, which governs AAHSA, is made up of leaders in the aging services and long-term care field. Delegates elect the members of the AAHSA board of directors and its officers. They also assist the AAHSA board of directors in clarifying association policy, long-range planning and governance of the association. Dr. Martin is a Scottsdale, Arizona resident.
"Dr. Martin is a valuable addition to our organization's House of Delegates," said Dr. William L. Minnix, AAHSA's President and CEO. "Her hard work and expertise will help ensure that America's older adults receive the services they need, when they need them, in the place they call home."
Martin, who is president of Triad West Inc. training, coaching, consulting, business development and Positively Powerful Events, also serves on the American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW) Board of Directors and the Sister City of Scottsdale (Arizona) Board of Directors. Before joining the ABHOW Board, she was influential in the design and implementation of the five-year culture change initiative for ABHOW customer service, leadership alignment, and diversity excellence.
Dr. Martin has delivered speeches, leadership trainings and diversity workshops across the U.S. and internationally (China, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Republic of South Africa, Malaysia, France, Russia, Finland, and Latvia) and assisted many thousands of individuals in transforming the quality of their lives, families, and work places. She has delivered keynotes speeches before aging services industry conferences on diversity and workplaces issues. Her educational background includes a PhD in Communications, MA in Psychology, and induction into the Wharton Business School Society of Fellows.
The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) consists of over 5,600 not-for-profit nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living and senior housing facilities, and community service organizations. More than half of AAHSA's members are religiously sponsored. Every day, AAHSA members serve one million older persons across the country.
