QuixoteFest '08 Issues Open Call for Presenters, Performers & Global Fans

QuixoteFest -- a two-day annual celebration of the adventurous spirit of Don Quixote, is seeking lecturers, performers, exhibitors and fans interested in celebrating the chivalric fictional creation of Miguel de Cervantes. QuixoteFest will be held October 10 through October 12 on the Wizard Academy campus in Austin, Texas.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 20, 2008 -- To all who are well-versed in the business of adventures, QuixoteFest '08 announces that it is now accepting nominations and applications to present, perform or just celebrate during the first annual QuixoteFest, to be held the weekend of October 10 through October 12, 2008 in Austin, Texas.

QuixoteFest will serve as an annual salute to the ideals and philosophies embodied in the chivalric character of Don Quixote as kindled by Miguel de Cervantes in 1604. The festival will offer a combination of lectures, performances, exhibits, reenactments and other adventures that appeal to serious Quixote students and casual fans alike.

Appropriately, the weekend event will be hosted on the campus of the Wizard Academy, a non-profit educational institution that fosters the kind of iconoclastic thinking and individualistic spirit that Cervantes endowed Don Quixote with.

Indeed, the 23-acre campus is a kind of 21st Century La Mancha, with Chapel Dulcinea -- a free outdoor wedding chapel -- serving as its crown jewel.

Those Quixote aficionados interested in speaking or presenting at QuixoteFest, as well as performers, merchants and others wishing to partake in the festivities are invited to submit their ideas and proposals no later than February 8, 2008.

"What giants?" asked Sancho Panza.

"Those thou seest yonder," answered his master.
