Holidays To Celebrate Renovation Nears Completion
HolidaysToCelebrate.com has switched its product focus from holiday decor to gift baskets, candy bouquets and gourmet cookies.
Lincoln, Neb. (PRWEB) September 21, 2007 -- HolidaysToCelebrate.com is nearing the end of its restructuring. The Web site, which had sold holiday décor products, has switched its focus to gift baskets.
"We've been working hard over the past two months to change over to the new products," said David Kubicek, who owns the Web site with his wife, Cheryl. "We now have 12 categories of gift baskets and will be putting up several more categories before the end of the year."
Holidays To Celebrate, a division of C & D Productions of Lincoln, Nebraska, was founded last year with a focus on the major United States holidays, Kubicek said. In addition to selling home décor items, the Web site had informational articles and quizzes about holiday history, traditions and trivia, as well as fiction relating to the holidays.
"Our informational and creative content won't change, and we'll be adding more articles and stories, but we decided to offer gift baskets, rather than home décor, to encompass personal holidays as well," Kubicek said.
By personal holidays, Kubicek said, he means birthdays, sporting events, thank you gifts and new baby gifts, and other special days that are important to individuals.
"We wanted to offer something all year 'round, not just in certain seasons," he said.
The most challenging thing about making the product switch was writing the shipping rules, Kubicek said.
"We offer free shipping via UPS Ground and USPS to destinations in the continental United States, but we wanted to give our customers a wider variety of options," he said. "If customers want their gifts to arrive more quickly, they may choose 3-Day, 2-Day, Next Day Air and Saturday Delivery. We also offer DHL Express for Candy Bouquets only."
Because the size of the package determines the shipping cost, many different price ranges must be taken into account, he said. Also, some products, mostly chocolate but a few candy bouquets, may only be shipped via Next Day Air or DHL Express because of their heat sensitivity.
"The options are clearly marked on the order form, and the heat sensitive products are marked in their descriptions as well," Kubicek said. "If any confusion remains, everything is spelled out on our Shipping Information page, which lists shipping prices."
Holidays To Celebrate currently ships to all 50 United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and military bases. C & D Productions also operates CandleLightWay.com, which sells candles, candle holders, incense, aromatherapy oils, incense and oil burners and potpourri.
