Luko Wines Announces that it Scored Big Points on its Debut Wines

Luko Wines, a company which produces boutique wines in California received two big scores of 90 and 91 from wine reviewer Jonathan Branch, owner of Branch Cellars, on their debut Syrah and White Rhone Blend wines.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 13, 2007 -- A Houston-based wine company, Luko Wines (http://www.lukowines.com), which produces boutique wines in California, announced it received big scores of 90 and 91 from wine reviewer Jonathan Branch, Winemaker, Chef and owner of Branch Cellars.

Luko Wines debut products, a 2005 Syrah produced from grapes from White Hawk Vineyards in Santa Barbara California and a White Rhone Blend produced from fruit sourced from Sonoma's Russian River Valley appellation, was reviewed by Jonathan Branch. Said Branch, "The White Rhone Blend had excellent fruit purity with a floral and peach nose balanced by a solid mineral frame," and was awarded 91 points. Branch commented that the Syrah "exhibited beautiful fruit, nose of cherries, blackberries and vanilla, with solid tannins that kept it from being too heavy," and was awarded 90 points. This was the first review for the company's wines after a successful exhibition at the Telluride Wine Festival back this past June. As the company plans to continue to submit the wine for professional reviews, we expect to garner more high scores on our handmade wine.

The owner and winemaker, James Luko, commented that he was delighted to receive the excellent scores on their debut product and expected the very small initial production of only 100 cases of each wine to sell out fast. The company stated that production was small and will continue to remain small to ensure that the winemaker can pay close attention to the progress of the entire lot of wine.

The company currently sells the wine via their website, but distribution to restaraunts and wine bars will begin soon in Texas and California. Said the owner, James Luko, "We feel California is an important market for us because its the home of our winery as well as being the largest wine consuming state in the U.S., but Texas is a large consumer market which hasn't yet reached its potentional in wine consumption."
